Although I agree these are advertizements and for me a waste of space, I question the overall immediate deletion of advertizements.
I have spent the past 12 years in the stacks researching a pile of rocks in our local park. There is only chunks of cement and broken rock piles there now, but it was something large at one point. The only solid reference to the building I encountered was in an 1880's trade journals advertisement. "Next door to Williams Mill". Once I had a name from that ad, the information led me to the deed to the property and from there the rest was just looking at old documents. My kind of pleasant afternoon. I would not have been successful in my search if not for a 4 line advertizement on page 96 of some dusty old book.

Are you certain these should be removed?
